My father was not on any medications before, but his BP is always measured above 150/100.
Since few weeks his BP is about 170+/100+. So we consult a doctor who recommend telmekind 40mg once a day. But we checked his blood report, all is normal but still doctor suggested to continue same medication. We took second opinion and other doctor after reviewing blood report suggested same medicine with 5mg a day. So there is a huge difference in suggestions. So taking third opinion that do we need to continue with 40mg or 5mg? Just let you know that my father is not feeling any related problems regarding high bp. Please suggest. Thank you. My father is concerned about being habitual to take bp medication if taking unnecessary.

Telmikind doesn't come in 5mg strength. It comes at 20mg which is the lowest. I think the second doctor must have prescribed amlodepine. Please check it.
Next Steps
whether 40mg telmikind or 5mg amlodepine, strength has nothing to do with as both are completely different drugs.
