Hello Get her BP checked before taking medicine and after 12 hrs of taking medicine. If BP remains normal both times, then stop amlodipine for 3 days but do check BP every day for next 3 days. If everything is fine you can stop the medicine  but do keep checking BP regularly at least once in a week. Amlodipine is one of the safest anti hypertensive medicine. Thanks

Blood pressure may have to be checked more than once before someone can be diagnosed to be suffering from hypertension or high blood pressure. There is a type of high blood pressure which is known as white coat hypertension which occurs only when a patient's blood pressure is checked by a doctor in his apron but disappears later on. The history that you have provided makes me suspicious that your mother is having either a low blood pressure on taking Amlodipine or a postural hypotension ( low blood pressure ) after taking Amlodipine which may occur with many anti hypertensive drugs.
Next Steps
Since your mother is having a BP of 120/80, I would suggest that you stop giving her Amlodipine for 2 to 3 days and check her blood pressure after this with an electronic BP checking instrument or have her blood pressure checked by an experienced compounder or a local doctor. If her blood pressure is more than 130/80 which is the higher normal limit, you may restart Amlodipine in a low dose to start with. If BP is 130/80 or less, stop giving her Amlodipine.
Health Tips
By the way, Amlodipine is one of the safest anti hypertensive that you can give to a hypertensive patient without much investigation. In any case you do a ECG, blood for urea, creatinine, sodium, potassium. You can come to my clinic with your mother as she needs to be checked clinically.
