Hello your baby is showing some expected developmental behaviors for her age, but also has a few mild delays, especially in gross motor and oral exploration. At 8 months, babies typically: Roll both ways Sit steadily without support Start crawling or trying to move Mouth objects frequently Babble with a variety of sounds Your baby: Responds to name and smiles - Good social development Makes noises but not speaking - Acceptable for age Sits only with support and not crawling yet - Mild delay Doesn’t mouth toys/objects - Mild concern (oral exploration is expected)
Next Steps
Encourage Active Floor Time: Give lots of supervised tummy time. Place toys just out of reach to encourage movement and crawling. Avoid using walkers or prolonged time in chairs. Stimulate Mouthing: Offer safe teething toys and textured rattles. Use soft spoons or baby toothbrushes for gentle oral stimulation. Speech & Social Play: Talk, sing, and name everyday objects. Use mirrors, peek-a-boo, and mimic games. Growth & Nutrition Check: Ensure appropriate complementary feeds and weight gain. Monitor Development: Recheck milestones at 9 months. If no significant improvement in sitting/crawling or mouthing, consult a developmental pediatrician or early intervention therapist.
Health Tips
This is not alarming right now, but it’s important to support development actively. Mild delays can improve well with early stimulation at home. Avoid comparisons with other babies — each child develops at their own pace.

While some of the baby's developmental milestones seem to be on track (smiling, reacting to name, making noises), it's advisable to consult a pediatrician regarding the limited back-to-tummy rolling, lack of object exploration with her mouth, and not yet crawling at 8 months. They can assess her development comprehensively
