Can stress of any kind cause high frequency hearing loss? A few months ago, I suddenly couldn't hear the fire alarm and I failed the age hearing test on brain games (couldn't hear any of the address!). I'm near loud noises at work but so is everyone else but their hearing was never effected. I was once so stressed that I lost my vocals for three hours! This is why I think the loss is due to stress. There isn't any genetics involved, any ototoxic medication that is listed I take seldomly (and taken BELOW required dosage), again, loud noise is present but not severe enough for high pitch deafness. So could it be stress? Ever since my first born was born, I've been having intrusive thoughts (gore-ish to the max but I digress) . Please help

No stress does not causes hearing loss, for a moment you can feel that you are not able to hear but its not physical it's psychological.
It means everything is fine I your hearing organ and there is no damage.
