Health anxiety
I'm a 21 year old female and i suffer from severe health anxiety. I keep on searching for lumps all over the body and whenever i find any i get extremely scared. Moreover, sometimes it becomes difficult to distinguish between lump or muscle or bone. It is ruining my life. Please help

It is necessary to deal with your illness anxiety, otherwise it will have adverse effects. Here are some ways to deal with it: 1. Journal. Note how often you check your body, ask people for reassurance, or look at health information. Try to gradually reduce how often you do these things over a week 2. Challenge your thoughts. Make a table with 2 columns. Write your health worries in the 1st column, then more balanced thoughts in the 2nd for example, in the 1st column you may write, ""I'm worried about these headaches"" and in the 2nd, ""Headaches can often be a sign of stress"" 3. Meditate. Try mindful activities or simple meditation to calm yourself down. 4. Seek professional help. A professional therapist will help you understand the true causes of anxiety and provide the right tools for you to deal with

Hi... Pls answer following questions: 1. Is there any family history of a particular     physical/mental health issue? 2. Did this health related anxiety developed over a      period of time or started happening suddenly? 3. Any major changes in your life (personal/      academic) recently? The prognosis will be based on your answers. You need to consult a Psychologist and start Counselling/Psychotherapy.
