After a head injury, doctors decide CT scan based on clinical criteria, not just how hard the hit felt. If you had: • No loss of consciousness • No vomiting • No seizures • No confusion • No severe headache • No weakness or vision problems • No bleeding from nose/ears Then it is considered a mild head injury without red flags. In such cases, CT scan is usually not required because: • Radiation exposure should be avoided if not necessary • Risk of brain bleed is very low Your neurologist likely assessed you using standard head injury guidelines and found no danger signs. Naxdom 250 (naproxen combination) is given for pain and inflammation.
Next Steps
Monitor yourself for the next 48–72 hours. Go to emergency immediately if you develop: • Repeated vomiting • Severe worsening headache • Drowsiness • Confusion • Blurred or double vision • Weakness in arms/legs • Seizure • Persistent neck stiffness If none of these occur, it is most likely a soft tissue injury (scalp contusion). Apply: ✔ Cold compress first 24 hours ✔ Then warm compress after 48 hours ✔ Rest ✔ Avoid heavy exercise
Health Tips
✔ Avoid alcohol for few days ✔ Sleep normally (no need to stay awake if fully conscious and stable) ✔ Avoid screen strain if headache present ✔ Take pain medicine after food Most mild forehead impacts cause muscle and scalp pain, which can feel widespread because scalp nerves are sensitive. If you still feel uneasy or if symptoms change, a structured reassessment can be done. Booking an online consultation would allow a proper red-flag checklist review and reassurance without unnecessary scans.
