Sleepiness may be a side effect of Dilnip 10 (Cilnidipine) due to lowering of blood pressure. Taking it on an empty stomach may worsen symptoms. Advise the patient to take the medicine after breakfast instead of empty stomach. Check blood pressure to rule out excessive BP fall. If symptoms persist, consider dose adjustment or switching to another antihypertensive (e.g., Amlodipine) after physician review.
Next Steps
• Monitor BP twice daily for a few days. • Start taking the medicine after food. • If sleepiness or loss of appetite continues, consult the physician for dose change or alternative drug.
Health Tips
Avoid sudden standing (risk of dizziness). Ensure adequate hydration and regular meals. If BP

Hello. Clinidipine (dilnip) will not cause these symptoms per se. this could be due to underlying disease. Do you have kidney issues? Please specify. A complete check up and blood tests is definitely needed

Dilnip is a medicine for Hypertension. You could be taking a higher dose than what you need. Please consult a General Physician in your area for a physical examination. You should keep a record of your blood pressure (morning and evening).

On consumption of Cilnidipine , if the blood pressure drop is significant, you can have light headedness . However, increase in sleep is not a common side effect of Cilnidipine. Loss of appetite should be evaluated further.
Next Steps
Monitor blood pressure

Hello. Based on what you described, sleepiness and loss of appetite after starting Dilnip 10 can sometimes occur as a side effect of blood pressure medications. This may happen due to changes in blood pressure levels or the body adjusting to the medicine. However, an accurate assessment requires clinical evaluation and review of current medications and blood pressure readings. In the meantime you may consider: • Monitoring blood pressure regularly • Maintaining adequate hydration and balanced meals • Taking medicines strictly as prescribed Since symptoms started after beginning the medication, a detailed assessment is recommended to see if dose adjustment or an alternative medicine is needed. You may consider an online consultation for proper evaluation and a personalized treatment plan.

Dilnip 10 (Cilnidipine) is a medicine used to treat Hypertension (high blood pressure). Some patients may experience sleepiness, fatigue, dizziness, or reduced appetite, especially in the initial weeks after starting the medicine or if the dose is relatively high. Taking the medication twice daily on an empty stomach may sometimes increase these side effects in sensitive individuals. The symptoms you mentioned—sleepiness and loss of appetite—can occur with blood pressure medicines, but they should be evaluated to ensure blood pressure is not dropping too much or that the dose is appropriate.
Next Steps
• Check blood pressure regularly (morning and evening) for a few days and note the readings. • The treating doctor may consider adjusting the dose, changing the timing, or switching to another blood pressure medicine if side effects are significant. • Usually, Cilnidipine is taken once daily, so the prescription and dosing schedule should be reconfirmed with the doctor. • If symptoms like severe dizziness, fainting, or very low BP readings occur, medical review should be done promptly.
Health Tips
• It is usually better to take BP medicines after food rather than on an empty stomach, unless specifically advised otherwise. • Maintain adequate hydration, as dehydration can worsen dizziness and fatigue. • Monitor sleep quality, appetite, and BP readings for a few days and keep a record for the doctor. • Ensure a balanced diet with small frequent meals if appetite is reduced. If you’d like, you can book an online consultation and share recent blood pressure readings and the full prescription, and I can guide you on whether the dose or timing of the medication needs adjustment for better tolerance.

Sleepiness and loss of appetite can occur as side effects of antihypertensive medicines like Cilnidipine (Dilnip 10) in some patients. Taking the medicine twice daily may also lower blood pressure more than required, which can cause fatigue or drowsiness.
Next Steps
Check and record blood pressure readings twice daily for a few days. Usually Dilnip 10 is taken once daily, preferably after breakfast unless otherwise prescribed. If sleepiness persists, consult the doctor to adjust the dose or change to another BP medication.Contact me anytime on practo for further consultation

Sleepiness can sometimes occur after starting Dilnip 10 as it may lower blood pressure. Take the medicine after food and monitor blood pressure. If sleepiness or loss of appetite continues, consult your doctor as the dose or medicine may need adjustment.
