Hi. This can indeed occur, if d patient has concomitant alopecia areata with male pattern baldness. Very rarely alopecia areata itself may present with diffuse baldness. However I can explain general aspects of male pattern bald ness.Initially there ll be frontoteporal recession fallowed by vertex bald ness finally both these areas combined to form bald head leaving fringe of hair in occipital area of scalp.frontotemporal area corresponds to side of head or forehead. It could be better if you send a picture.Many effective treatment options are available like minoxidil ;PRP, lasers, mesotherapies ect; consult a dermatologist for appropriate treatment.
