Fungal Infection
I am going through treatment of fungal infection and because of wrong prescription my skin has become very thin. Dr. Said it'll not recover.. Need to go through laser treatment. I am going through a treatment now and the infection has gone now but the skin is still damaged. Taking those medicines has resulted into itching on face. Can you suggest what can be the possible reasons and can the skin be back to normal again?

You were suffering from tinea cruris which is fungal infection of the inner thighs and buttocks area. I think it has spread to your face also becuase you have itching on face. It can be treated by taking four to six weeks of anti fungal treatment which includes tablets along with creams. Do not use soap over that area. Mistreatment with over the counter Steroid containing creams like fourderm, panderm, quadriderm, hh zole, candid b etc lead to repeated case of recurrence and also side effects due to application which you mentioned ( skin getting thin and stretch marks). Do not use steroid containing combination creams. Please call me or contact me using online consult option with photos for detailed prescription. Do not delay treatment as it may spread further on your body and also to other people living in the household.
