Fractured toe
I got a fracture in my left toe and have a fiberglass cast for 5 weeks. Its just 2 more days to complete the 5 weeks duration. But still I have swelling and pain in my leg. The dr prescribed a diclofenac gel but it relieves pain for few hours and again back to the same condition. What can be the reason and how to get rid of the swelling and pain?

How can you apply gel when there is  a fibreglass cast?? Toe fractures are difficult to manage with casts as they are the extermities, so no cast is good for them. Swelling most of the times is due to ongoing inflammation, healing and due to non usage of the affected part.
