Dear parents, God has gifted mother with milk which is amrit for baby. Mothers milk Increaseswith demand of baby that is by sucking. Hold the baby in one arm keeping his head at elbow joint and the buttocks in the palm of same arm and feed the baby for 15to20minutes. Hold the outer palm of baby in between the thumb and index finger and press the palm when ever baby sleep or stop feeding. After feeding put the baby on left shoulder and pat just behind stomach level for 5mintues to burpe. Baby burp 3to5times. After burping lay down the baby onright side of the baby putting a pillow below head maintaining that head is above level of stomach. To get sufficient milk 1 have positive attitude. 2 drink lots of water before breastfeeding and during breast feeding. 3 Hold properly. Concentrate on the baby while breastfeeding. 4 weight of baby gain after a month is only criteria for knowing adequate milk supply

There is no contraindication for a G6PD deficient baby, to any of the commercially available formulas. However, breastfeeding is obviously a better choice. I would be more interested to know why it is that you feel, your breastmilk is insufficient. Is it because baby is not gaining weight? Is it because baby is passing less urine? First, these issues need to be looked into, before starting formula feeds.
