Folic acid is a vitamin suppliment. It is necessary for production of healthy blood cells which would improve your haemoglobin along with iron supplements.Folic acid doesn't cause weight reduction. For weight reduction you need to reduce 500kcal from your diet but your diet needs to be very rich in nutrients .You need to include a lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet . reduce the amount of carbohydrates like roti and rice. Each meal should contain sufficient protiens- if you are a vegetarian consume pulses and legumes otherwise you can include meat.you need to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.Avoid sugar and bakery items.Make a disciplined excercise plan to excercise every day. Hire a personal trainer if you want. But weight reduction is only about a very very good diet 80% and excercise 20% and you need to be consistent with it.

Folic acid is a vitamin. It doesn't cause any weight loss. You can continue taking healthy balanced diet and exercise atleast for 30-45 mins in a day for 5 days in a week for normal healthy weight reduction.
