His fever appears to have settled, as a temperature of 35–36°C indicates no active fever. However, the residual symptoms such as chills, running nose, and headache are very common after a viral upper respiratory infection, especially when the weather changes suddenly. These symptoms often persist for 3–5 days even after the fever resolves, because the body is still recovering from the viral inflammation.
Next Steps
For now, supportive care is usually sufficient: 1.Hydration: Encourage warm fluids, soups, and adequate water intake. 2. Paracetamol 500 mg can be given if he develops headache, body aches, or discomfort (every 6–8 hours if needed). 3.Steam inhalation 2–3 times a day to relieve nasal congestion and running nose. 4.Cetirizine 5–10 mg at night can help with running nose and sneezing. 5.Ensure rest and proper sleep, as recovery slows if he is tired or mildly dehydrated. Most children improve steadily over 2–4 days.
Health Tips
Seek medical review if he develops: New fever, persistent chills Breathing difficulty Severe headache or vomiting Worsening symptoms beyond 4–5 days At this stage, his condition appears to be post-viral recovery, and supportive measures should help him feel better soon.

Temperature 35–36°C means no fever now. The symptoms (cold, chills earlier, runny nose, headache) are most likely due to a viral cold. What to do: Give rest, warm fluids, steam inhalation. Paracetamol if headache/body ache (as per age/weight dose). Antihistamine like cetirizine at night for runny nose (if not allergic to it). Keep him hydrated and warm. Monitor for fever, worsening cough, breathing difficulty, or weakness.
