Fast drinking of breast milk by baby

Doctor,my baby is in 5th month of her life.in this 5th month some times she drinks very fast n suddenly cough little.and the milk is breast milk.why this happens!

Hey... I’ll be happy to help u with this... as the baby grows older it becomes stronger and its need for nutrition becomes higher . It also depends on how often u feed him as it might be hungry if not feed for more than 3 hours and will try to compensate by sucking harder. Little cough now and then is quite normal.

Next Steps

Burping is very important so make sure u burp the child compulsory after every feed by patting the back . Kindly check the weight of the baby on regular basis as it will assess the feeding of the baby .
