Facial swelling on the left side of your mouth without pain could have various causes. Some possibilities include: Salivary gland issue: Swelling may occur if there is a blockage or infection in the salivary gland on the left side. This can lead to the accumulation of saliva and subsequent swelling. Dental infection: An infected tooth or gum can cause swelling in the surrounding area. However, it is usually accompanied by pain or discomfort. Allergic reaction: Swelling could be a result of an allergic reaction to certain foods, medications, or substances that come into contact with your mouth. Cyst or tumor: In rare cases, a cyst or tumor may develop in the oral cavity, causing swelling. These typically require medical attention for diagnosis and treatment. Given that the swelling has persisted for 2-3 years without pain, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional, such as a dentist or oral surgeon, for a proper evaluation. They will be able to examine your mouth, review your medical history, and possibly order additional tests or imaging to determine the cause of the swelling.
