Facial Pain after FESS,SMD n Septoplasty
Hi, My brother had undergone FESS, SMD and Septoplasty three months before. Until a month and half it was okay. Experienced pain during endoscopic cleaning and thereafter Pus had developed to which doctor had prescribed antibiotics for a week. Now, pus has come down but He is feeling burning pain during mild heavy or deep breathing. Also, experiencing mild pain in and near septum and temples which increases on and off. This is causing restlessness and irritation. When consulted with operated Doctor he is suggesting that it's his psychological feeling and not actual pain or complaint, and he isn't responding properly queries or pain.

Hi. Some post-op discomfort can be present after a surgery. However, after a FESS, thorough cleaning must be done weekly to avoid any post-op complications. Also, saline nasal rinses must be done regularly. If you have persistent pain, plz visit an ENT specialist near you for a thorough physical examination (including endoscopy, if needed). Warm regards, Dr Aanchal A Mittal, Therapeia centre, Bangalore
