Extensive PTB
My father has been diagnosed with TB and confirmed that 25% of right lung has been infected through xray . He had major weight loss. Can he return to normal life? Doctor has prescribed medicines and asked us to visit after 15 days. What kind of healthy food should we give him? Will it spread to other family members? Am worried whether it can be drug resistant.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  Yes he will become normal with proper treatment. Taking the whole course of anti tubercular medications is very important.  Altough his lung functions might not return to the full capacity. You can give him a high protein diet along with fruits and vegetables and greens. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
