Duphaston 10 mg at 33 weeks
My doctor has prescribed duphaston 10 mg and duvadilan retard 40 at 33 weeks of pregnancy. Are these medicines necessary and safe to take at 33 weeks

These medicines are prescribed if you have preterm labour pains because we don't want you to deliver before 37 weeks. 37 weeks is the cutoff period for your baby's lungs to mature. Delivery before 37 weeks means baby's stay in NICU. To prevent these pains and preterm delivery, these medicines are prescribed.
Next Steps
Do keep a track of your fetal movements. Atleast 10 -12 movements are a must.

Duphaston has no role at 33 weeks The placenta is secreting this in kilograms Duvadilan is to stop preterm contractions Till the effect of the steroid comes in for lung maturity So to answer your question are these medicines necessary Do you have contractions Was an injection given for lung maturity If the answer to these two questions is no you do not require them
