Always vaccinate before even adopting a pet. Vaccinate yourself and then vaccinate your pet. Unvaccinated pet has an unknown medical history , this could be very dangerous as Rabies is fatal. Other than that, animals can cause skim diseases as grave requiring amputation. So beware. Complete the entire post vaccination schedule on time.
