The fracture is a bad one. However the current xray suggest the need for additional surgery. Medial  plating and bone grafting is needed. The knee bending should be addressed in the same sitting by either mobilisation or Quadriceps release. What ever is needed must be done to achieve near total range of movement. Physiotherapy is half the treatment. I hope after the first surgery supervised physiotherapy was advised.
