Diastolic BP
Hello doctor, I've been experiencing a systolic blood pressure of 126 and a diastolic blood pressure higher than 90 over the past few days. I'm currently taking 5mg of amlodipine. Should I be concerned about my diastolic blood pressure? Thank you

Constantly raised diastolic BP above 90 is considered as stage 2 hypertension.Wait for a few days as you have started taking Amlodipine recently , takes a few weeks to bring the BP lower.Get an echo to determine the diastolic function.

Thank you for reaching out with your query. In order to provide you with an accurate and complete medical opinion, I would need a more detailed history, relevant clinical findings, and possibly a review of your reports or investigations. Unfortunately, it is not medically advisable to provide a diagnosis or treatment solely based on limited information in a message. I recommend booking an online consultation with me through Practo. This will allow us to have a thorough discussion regarding your symptoms and help me guide you better. Looking forward to helping you in a more detailed manner. Warm regards, Dr. Sudarshan Lamture MD (Medicine) Sfurti Multispeciality Hospital
