Diabetes is a complex issue and more than controlling blood sugar it is important to prevent complications. For both your parents all there medicine and lab report details are needed to give any advice regarding need for change in medicines. Additionally if both parents are diabetic the risk of getting diabetes in the offspring is 100%. It may appear at any age. So you should keep checking for blood sugars every few months. Also try to keep your weight under control and be active so that we can delay development of diabetes.
