Dengue tested
My son 8 yrs , 45 kg .. has tested positive for dengue. Platelets 2.66lacs. I am advised for crocin 240 12.5 ml every 6 hourly. His fever is constant ranging from 101-102.5 . Can. I give him meftal also if the fever rises more than 102. Or any other medicine. Pls advise

Dont let the temperature shoot up more than 100. Within 6 hrs of the previously administered Syrup Crocin. Tepid sponging with normal water over the entire body. Keep him well hydrated with fluids upto 3-4 litres/day

Do not use meftal or any similar pain killer medicine in dengue. It can help in decreasing platelet count which is not good. Only paracetamol is safe. If fever more than 102 use tepid water sponging.
