Good day to you sir
I understand your concern and it's good to know that you are vigilant and give utmost importance to the health and well being of your child. I am sure this must be distressing causing a hindrance in your day to day activities. I shall try to the best of my abilities to consult you
Cough and cold is a very common symptom seen in neonates, infants and young children. It can be viral or bacterial.
However, as the cough reflex in child is not yet developed their is no sputum expectoration in these patients
This leads to issues in prescribing and following adult treatment regimens as it can lead to complications
Since it is beyond the scope of this Q/A forum to reach the root cause of the issue followed by corresponding treatment plan.
Next Steps
I kindly urge you to book a one to one consultation with your family physician or any paediatrician you are comfortable with so that a workup (history, investigations) can be done followed by designing an appropriate and personalized treatment plan.
