Cough and sore throat

Asked for Female, 23 Years

My mother had light fever and headache since 4-5 days. Since then, she has cough and sore throat. Due to this she is feeling very weak. Also, she feels it difficult to sleep at night due to dry cough. Please suggest something.

Hello. Her above mentioned symptoms can be due to seasonal flu or some infection. Did she take any medications in last 4-5 days? Further management depends on any coexisting illness, severity of symptoms and presence or absence of breathlessness along with cough.

Consult a physician for proper management. Till then, over the counter cold medication like Solvin Cold twice daily for 3-5 days might help.

Warm saline gargles, steam inhalation will also help.
