You need physical examination, you may have cough from 2 weeks ,so you also required sputum culture .please consult me on practo for further management and evaluation.
Cough + chest infection + shortness of breath for 15 days is not a simple viral cold anymore.
Possible causes:
• Acute bronchitis
• Bacterial chest infection
• Post-viral airway inflammation
• Asthma triggered by infection
• Atypical pneumonia
• Allergy-related bronchospasm
Shortness of breath is the key concern here.
If breathing difficulty is present, this needs proper evaluation — not just cough syrup.
If you have:
• Fever
• Thick yellow/green sputum
• Chest tightness
• Wheezing sound
• Night cough
Then airway inflammation or infection is likely.
Next Steps
You should ideally get:
✔ Chest examination by doctor
✔ Oxygen saturation check
✔ CBC
General treatment approach (depends on diagnosis):
If bronchitis:
• Steam inhalation
• Mucolytic (like ambroxol/acetylcysteine)
• Bronchodilator inhaler if wheezing
If bacterial suspicion:
• Antibiotic course (only after evaluation)
If asthma component:
• Inhaled bronchodilator + steroid inhaler
If oxygen saturation
Health Tips
✔ Avoid cold drinks
✔ Avoid dust/smoke exposure
✔ Sleep with head slightly elevated
✔ Drink warm fluids
✔ Do not self-start strong antibiotics randomly
Since breathlessness is involved and symptoms are already 15 days long, this should not be ignored. Proper examination is important to rule out pneumonia or reactive airway disease.
Booking an online consultation will allow structured symptom assessment and correct prescription rather than guesswork treatment.
X ray is not very good quality, but no pneumonia. The way you are describing, could be acute bronchitis.
Please share results of cbp ,what meds you have taken. Then I can help you further to heal.
