I got vaccinated for rabies in childhood, approximately 30 years ago. Then recently around 1 year ago a doctor gave me one injection of rabies vaccine as I had concern after being scratched by a dog. Meanwhile I underwent cardiac bypass couple months back. Now when walking home yesterday I got licked by our friendly street dog and I was not sure whether it licked me on a very small open wound where I had scratched myself around 6 hours earlier. I am worried about rabies and please tell me whether the earlier vaccines are enough and whether I am at risk of contracting rabies if the dog had possibly licked on my 6 hour old wound.
