Ah, don't take anymore steroids now. It can affect your body and pancreas and after a point it can cause insulin resistance also. But it's good you took steroids under the care of your family doctor. Chikungunya pain can last for months. Start with a lil physiotherapy for your joints.
Next Steps
Physiotherapy. Painkillers (sos) B12 supplements (Maxirich Gold, 1 Cap per day for a month)

After chikungunya, joint pain can last weeks to months (post-viral arthritis). Usually improves gradually. Use NSAIDs (like ibuprofen/naproxen, only if safe for you), warm compress, gentle stretching/physio. Avoid repeated steroids. Take calcium + vitamin D, stay hydrated.
Next Steps
See a doctor/rheumatologist if pain persists >2 months, joints swell, or daily activities are limited.

Steroids are of doubtful value in this case because you are dealing with an infection. Joint pains persist for some time after you have become afebrile. You should start some mild exercises like walking and stretching the muscles.  You will see some improvement.

First of all. Its a viral fever no specific antiviral drug is available for chikungunya Treatment is symptomatic+ supportive,  plenty of fluids nd rest is the mainstay of treatment. You need only paracetamol, dont go for NSAIDS unless free of  dengue Steriods are only necessary for severe arthritis
Next Steps
Take plenty of fluids, and have proper rest and give your body sometime to recover You can reach me out anytime especially if you have severe arthritis
Health Tips
NSAIDS(only if dengue is negative)

Quite common to have joint pain after viral diseases, it will settle soon , if pain is a bit over the top , consider taking diclofenac but only if pain is not controlled

Hello, joint pains after chikungunya infection can persist for several weeks to months even after the fever and acute illness settle. This is quite common and called post-viral arthritis/arthralgia.
Next Steps
Take paracetamol or NSAIDs for pain relief, as advised by a doctor. Gentle joint exercises and physiotherapy help prevent stiffness. Adequate hydration and rest are important. Avoid repeated steroid use unless specifically indicated by a specialist.
Health Tips
If the pain is very severe, persistent beyond 2–3 months, or associated with swelling and stiffness, it’s best to consult a rheumatologist for further evaluation.

I completely understand what you are going through. After chikungunya, it is quite common for joint pains and stiffness to remain for several weeks or even a few months. This does not mean the infection is still active, but rather that the joints take time to settle down. Many patients experience this and gradually improve. Since you have already taken a short course of steroids under your doctor’s guidance, you do not need to worry. What helps now is gentle stretching, light physical activity, warm compresses, and regular pain-relief medicines if prescribed. Try to keep your body well hydrated, eat a balanced diet, and rest properly. The pain can be frustrating, but it usually reduces with time and most patients recover completely. If the pain becomes severe or new symptoms appear, it would be good to review once again with your doctor. Please be reassured that you are on the path to recovery.

Take tab flexon m.r one every 8hours for 3 to 4 days, after meals. When muscular pain, joint pain becomes less, just do do warm compression and apply diclofenac ointment 2 to 3 times daily. Take tab. Shelcal M one morning and one evening for 10 days.

Hlo sir, chikungunya ke baad joint pain lamba chal sakta hai, kabhi-kabhi 3–6 mahine tak bhi. 👉 Aapke liye advice: Dard ke liye paracetamol ya NSAID le sakte ho (agar koi medical problem na jese BP, kidney problem) Steroid dobara mat lena bina specialist advice ke. Garam sek & halki physiotherapy/exercise daily karo. Hydration aur balanced diet maintain karo. Agar swelling, zyada stiffness ya pain daily life disturb kare, to rheumatologist ko consult karo. ⏳ Dheere-dheere pain kam ho jata hai, thoda patience rakhna zaroori hai.
