Changing bandages on a laceration
I cut my finger to the bone and was treated in the emergency room. The doctor who treated me told me not to change my bandage until I have a follow-up appointment with a doctor one week later. Another nurse gave me supplies to bandage it and my discharge instructions said to check the wound in 2-3 days to make sure it is healing properly. I don't know what the best course of action is to prevent infection.
