Im diagnosed with cervical incompetence in my 1st pregnancy that is ended in 19w... 2nd pregnancy (ovulation induction and follicular monitoring ) twins formed... 14w i got mcdonald cerclage and modified bed rest... at 20w i got labour pain and delivered (with cerclage) at home.. my doc told me to do abdominal cerclage for next pregnancy... i consult another doc, she said we do shirodkar cerclage next time... im confused.. please guide me what we should select...

MacDonald cerclage is do helpful may b some surgical mistakes
May you tell that is done by general surgeon or gynecologist as I have seen a case where general surgeon don3 only on upper lip of cervix

2nd trimester abortion has many reason.
One of them is defect in uterus. For that you can go for MRI scan.
To decide between abdominal or Shirodkar cerclage you need to get examined for your cervix status.
Your doctor who is been treating you will tell you better.

You have a history of cervical incompetence.thats the most common reason for second trimester pregnancy loss.so you should have a prophylactic circlage this time .as soon as the level 1 is done you should go for the stitch.
