Cervical effacement
I am 37 weeks + 2 days pregnant (first pregnancy). My recent scan shows cervical length 4.6 cm and internal os is closed. Baby is in cephalic position with normal growth and movements. I had a PV examination 2 days before, where the doctor mentioned cervical length around 3 cm. Is it possible for the cervix to shorten and efface naturally before my due date (21st)?
