My baby is 5 weeks old and is on formula and breastfeed. While giving formula, we make the baby burp but while breastfeeding, he normally sleeps. So I put him down without burping so that he doesn't wake up. He has a very light sleep and hence I don't want to awaken him.
Is it fine that I don't make the body burp after breastfeeding?
He won't be having any problem due to this, right?
He aleady has gases though.
If he is to be burped in sleep, please suggest how it should be done so that he does not wake up.

Since your baby has gases, it is imperative that u burp him after each feed. Whether your baby is breastfed or formula fed, burping is essential. You can hold him upright across your shoulder, or make him sit on your lap, whichever u both are comfortable with
