It is a little bit difficult to actually diagnose the problem from a single photo and little information you provided. It's best to go to a doctor nearby and tell him/her your detailed history and then the correct diagnosis can be reached which will help you relieve your worries.

I understand your concern, but from your description and the image, this does not look like cancer. A painless, soft swelling near the ankle is most commonly something benign, like: -Lipoma (fat lump) -Sebaceous cyst -Ganglion cyst (fluid-filled swelling near joints) These are very common and harmless. Cancerous lumps are usually rapidly increasing in size, hard, irregular, fixed to deeper tissues, and may be associated with skin changes or pain- which doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Next Steps
-Get a local ultrasound (USG of ankle swelling): simple, quick, and confirms the nature -If needed, a surgeon can examine and decide if removal is required (only if painful, growing, or for cosmetic reasons)
Health Tips
°Rapid increase in size °Pain, redness, or ulceration °Very hard or fixed swelling

Most painless ankle swellings are benign lipoma or a cyst, not cancer. Advise USG local part for confirmation. No need to panic 👍 Follow up with report

Better if you examine by general surgeon physically. Because its need physical examination and evaluation.

"I understand your concern, but please do not panic. A painless bump near the ankle in a 51-year-old is very rarely cancerous. Most such swellings are benign (non-cancerous) and are often related to local tissues like tendons, joints, or fat. Common possibilities include a Ganglion Cyst (a fluid-filled sac from a joint or tendon), a Lipoma (a harmless fatty lump), or even an Atheurmal Cyst. Since it is painless and likely slow-growing, the chances of it being malignant are statistically very low."
Next Steps
1.Cancer Characteristics: Malignant tumors are usually rapidly growing, fixed to the bone, and often associated with other systemic symptoms like weight loss. A localized, painless bump is more typical of a benign cyst. 2. TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack): Please note that a TIA is a 'mini-stroke' related to blood flow to the brain and has symptoms like sudden weakness or slurred speech; it has no connection to a physical bump on the ankle."
