This is a common problem faced by many mothers . A child feels secure while breastfeeding even if milk produced at 2.5 years of age is very limited. Some children start biting mother's nipple due to decreased production too. So it needs to be stopped after 2 years. First of all child make sure , child is fed properly. Start decreasing the frequency of breastfeeding. Then stop it over the course of 2 months. Herbal methods like - Neem water can be applied around nipple area to discourage feeding. Certain over the counter chemicals are available but they should be avoided and explaining to child that he is too old for feeding is the best method.

There’s nothing wrong in feeding the baby as long as he’s taking solid food sufficiently. Try to give feeding exclusively at night daytime focus on foods. Give all types of food including non vegetarian.
Next Steps
Sudden stopping of milk puts lot of stress on baby.
Health Tips
Take a paediatric help for medication to prevent feeding.
