Hi
Dear friend
This is a more sensitive period of nutrition for an infant especially till 5 yrs of age
As all vital organs grow mostly till 5 yrs of age and since you are only breast feeding ( the sole source of nutrition).
You need to eat carbohydrates as well to protein to provide supplemental nutrition to your baby as well as energy to maintain yourself so even if you eat less baby s demands will be same but the quality of milk will diminish and you also will feel tired if you eat less carbohydrates.
My suggestion
Eat sufficient carbohydrates, protein and fat
But subsequently drink plenty of fluid in the form of water, milk, fresh fruit juice( without sugar addition) and buttermilk.
If you have had normal delivery do some form of exercise
Yoga, cycling, swimming or walking according to your preference
In case you have had a surgery for delivery consult with your gynaec is it right time to start exercise.
After 6 months you could reduce quantity of carbohydrates with supplement with more protein and also consume the liquids upto 2.5 ltrs per day to aid to increase your metabolism and help in your journey of weight loss.
It’s great that you’re thinking about the quality of your nutrition while breastfeeding! Postpartum nutrition is important not only for your recovery but not only recovery but also maintaining an adequate milk supply.
Carbs are an important energy source, especially for breastfeeding moms , who need extra calories.
However you can get sufficient energy from fruits, veggies and protein
Just make sure you’re getting enough overall throughout the day to meet energy levels.
Hydration is important while breastfeeding. Water herbal teas , other hydrating beverages are important for milk production.
Make sure getting sufficient nutrients including iron, vitamincalcium and healthy fats, which all contribute to overall health and milk quality
Skipping carbs at night and focusing on fruits, vegetables and protein should not drastically affect your milk supply if your eating well through out the day .
Multiple reason
Maybe you have some hormonal issues thyroid or diabetes
For your having some calcium or iron deficiency
Better to discuss over consultation with your all medical report
