BMI 26.1- Planning pregnancy
I am 149cm and 57kg. I have gained a considerable amount of weight (~7kg) after my marriage (11months) and have some belly fat now. But I don't have any health issues like thyroid or something else. We are actually planning for pregnancy this month. I am trying to lose weight by maintaining good diet and some physical activities since a month and will continue this. But my friend says that having belly fat will effect pregnancy and suggested to plan baby after losing weight. But we are planning for baby this month only. Can you please suggest?

Hello, Belly fat will not affect pregnancy. TIPS FOR WEIGHT LOSS: -Exercise daily for an hour (Can be at home or simple exercises like running, jogging, brisk walking, on the spot marching, squats, etc) -Include protein in your diet (taking protein rich foods post workout helps in muscle building) -Increase fiber in your diet (Will help you stay full) -Include fruits and vegetables in your diet (2-3 serving) -Water intake of atleast 3L per day -Add healthy fat like nuts to your diet. -Avoid/Exclude fried, sugary and junk food -Eat a balanced and healthy diet -Do not skip breakfast as 40% of days energy is from breakfast NOTE: The above mentioned practices can change according to a specific medical condition.
