Fasting 105 = borderline (prediabetes), 1-hr 165 is acceptable. No need to panic—focus on diet, exercise, weight control. Check HbA1c once; consult if values increase.

Your fasting blood sugar is slightly above the normal range. Ideally, fasting levels should be between 70–99 mg/dL. Values between 100–125 mg/dL are considered in the prediabetes range, and ≥126 mg/dL suggests diabetes. Your 1-hour post-meal value is 165 mg/dL, which is a bit higher than ideal. Generally, we prefer post-meal levels to be below 140 mg/dL. That said, a single day’s reading can vary depending on what you ate the previous day, your sleep, stress, and activity levels. So this is not confirmatory.
Next Steps
Better indicator of your overall blood sugar control would be an HbA1c test, as it reflects your average sugar levels over the past 3 months. Kindly get it done.
Health Tips
You can start with lifestyle modifications. Try to avoid refined sugars, excess carbohydrates, and processed foods. Focus on a balanced diet with good fibre and protein intake. Also, aim for regular physical activity—brisk walking for about 30–45 minutes a day, at least 5–7 days a week. Do keep monitoring your blood sugar levels regularly, and it would be advisable to check your HbA1c once every 3 months to track your overall control.

Your readings: • Fasting: 105 mg/dL • 1-hour post-meal: 165 mg/dL
Next Steps
• Confirm with proper tests: – Fasting blood sugar (repeat) – HbA1c (most important) • Lifestyle correction (start now): – Reduce sugar/refined carbs – Regular exercise (30 min daily) • Monitor: – Check fasting + 2-hour post-meal (more reliable than 1-hour)
Health Tips
• Prefer low glycemic foods (oats, whole grains) • Avoid sugary drinks and processed food • Maintain healthy weight • Sleep well (important for sugar control) ⚠️ Watch for: • Fasting ≥126 or HbA1c ≥6.5 → diabetes
