Baby weight
Hi doctor, My 6 and a half month old baby boy  weighs 9.8kg. He is on formula feed and recently started solid food 3 times a day. I'm worried about his weight gain. Is it healthy and normal weight? Will it delay the milestones achievement for him due to heavy weight? Please suggest.

His birth weight? Weight gain in 6 and half months should be 4.4kg. If 3kg at birth, now it should be 7.4 kg
Next Steps
If giving by bottle, change it to bowl and spoon. Try to feed directly from glass. Give solid food w/o sugar, ghee, nuts etc. But give vegetables, grains, pulses, 2 to 3 times

Developmental milestones are independent of weight. They might experience mild difficulty but tend to achieve. Formula fed infants tend to gain relatively more weight. Go for home made complementary feeds and nutrient dense feeds.
