Baby Weight
Hello! My baby boy is 11 weeks and weighs 5.3kg, however he has very less body fat. He is tall (64 cm).My husband and I are also tall. What can I do to make him gain more fat. I breastfeed him and also combo feed him. Thanks in advance.

Hello At 11 weeks (almost 3 months), a weight of 5.3 kg for a 64 cm tall baby is within acceptable range, though on the leaner side. Your baby seems to be long and lean, which may be genetically influenced, especially since both parents are tall. Weight-for-length percentile matters more than weight alone. Your baby’s growth chart would likely show appropriate proportionality. Some babies are naturally lean, especially if tall. Body fat varies and chubbiness is not the only indicator of health. Growth monitoring over time is key.
Next Steps
Ensure hindmilk intake: Let baby finish one breast fully before switching. Avoid over-diluting formula: Use exact scoop-to-water ratio. Burp well after each feed to avoid discomfort and early stopping. Monitor feeding cues and avoid forcing excess milk if baby is satisfied.
