A baby need detailed clinical  history , physical examination to rule out spine problem . I practice a paediatric orthopaedics whic are very few in delhi. Though brest feeding in sitting position do not cause any problem in spine , any precceding problem should be rouled out.

Hi...if the baby's back seems externally straight and there are no unusual swellings/hair patches/discoloured regions on the back, the baby is moving her legs normally...the chances of any spinal abnormality are very less. Secondly, there is no harm in making the baby sit. So don't worry about it!
