My daughter who is 2 and half month has started putting her thumb and at times all 4 fingers in the mouth from last 10 days.Now she is doing it even while sleeping even if she is not hungry.She sucks her thumb very vigorously and cries on removing. If it is hand and mouth co ordination..can we use some pacifiers or soothers..She cries on her hand being removed and its all red when taken out. Pls advise or guide.

This is a primal instinct,related BOTH to hunger AND psychological comfort.
Don't worry or try to stop it,it wanes off gradually.
Do NOT use pacifier or soothers,they cause stomach upsets.
