Hi, I am a 35 yr female corporate professional. I have migraine since childhood and have irritable bowel syndrome in my 20s, was given some medicine but lifestyle & food habit changes made some impact. I starting having chest palpitations, pain and left arm tingling around Covid time, especially severe breathing issues due to severe stress at work. Went to pulmonologist as ashthama runs in the family but heart & lungs seemed to be all fine, was finally diagnosed with anxiety issues 2yrs back. I was also having severe migraine attacks (only painkiller injections used to work) & started having medicines under the supervision of a neurologist. i am slightly better as the doctor explained that these meds also work for anxiety, it's been more than a year I am under treatment. Q: as the body's resistance increases and the dosages keep increasing, how long can one keep having these meds? also, I tried psychological counseling to no use, Q: for my anxiety, can you please guide?

Hello ma'am There might be need for recheck of medicines for you As you are telling you have anxiety issues with migraine There is need for medication (just a few)and also some Therapy/counseling to help you with such issues for faster improvement in your health And also to taper and stop medicines in due course to let you live. Neurologist is not the right person for treating anxiety disorder. Better consult an astute psychiatrist, there are effective med combination which would work excellently well for your condition.
