BP can be due to anxiety or vice versa Main culprit are thoughts in both cases Something is on your mind which is bothering you a lot We need to talk about that Regular counseling sessions will really help you overcome this Don’t compromise quality of your life Also try this: 1. Deep Breathing Exercises: • Practice 4-7-8 breathing: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds. • This calms your nervous system and lowers blood pressure. 2. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR): • Tense each muscle group for a few seconds, then relax, starting from your feet to your head. 3. Limit Stimulants Before Bed: • Avoid caffeine, nicotine, or heavy meals 2-3 hours before sleeping. Screen time should also be limited

Hi.. anxiety can be due to various physical and psychological reasons. It can lead to an increase in heart rate and palpitations. However if the rise in BP is persistent you will need further evaluation for the same. Anxiety can be treated with medicines.

Anxiety can cause a rise in blood pressure as well as sleep issues. Tackled well, both the issues should subside. Provided that you dont have longstanding issues of bp, no family history of hypertension, it might not be a primary issue. Further history for other physical symptoms and a week long monitoring of morning and evening BP may help in clarification.
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist for adequate management of anxiety per your symptom severity.
Health Tips
Until then, practise JPMR (videos on youtube) and deep breathing / box breathing technique. For sleep, practise sleep hygiene till the time you see your psychiatrist. It will include fixing a sleep routine, avoiding daytime naps, avoiding caffeine and nicotine after 6pm, reducing fluid intake around bedtime, eating a light meal at dinner, using the bed only for sleep, maintaining a calm environment in bedroom (dim lights, minimal sounds), a daily schedule of some physical activity (not around bedtime), and taking a glass of warm milk at bedtime.
