Anti rabies vaccine
I have received 3 doses of anti rabies vaccine after category 2 exposure. First dose was Rabipur, second was Abhayrab and third was Rabipur again. 1. Is it okay to interchange the vaccine brand as mentioned above? 2. After 12 hours of the third dose which was given in the right upper arm, I am experiencing slight armpit swelling and pain (no lump felt) and soreness on right arm and upper back area. Is this normal and will it go away on its own?

1) Yes, it is generally acceptable to interchange brands of anti-rabies vaccines, especially in post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). Both are purified, cell culture-based vaccines and are considered interchangeable. 2) Mild armpit swelling, arm pain, and soreness in the upper back area after a vaccine injection can be due to a local immune response or mild inflammation. This is usually self-limiting and not a cause for concern.
Next Steps
Take analgesic and cold compress.

You can take different brands of anti rabies vaccine. For pain and swelling over arm, do cold compression,  take tab voveran 50mg every 8hours for 3 days, after meals.

You can switch from Rabipur to Abhayrab and vice versa. Your swelling in the armpit is not a usual association with Anti-rabies vaccine. Please consult a General Surgeon in your area for a physical examination. It could be an abscess.
