Since you have completed a full anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) course 6 months ago, you are considered previously vaccinated.
What this means:
For any re-exposure (including saliva in eye), you DO NOT need to restart the full course
No RIG is required
Only 2 booster doses (Day 0 and Day 3) are recommended
You have already taken doses on 18th (Day 0) and 21st (Day 3), which is correct management
Current exposure (saliva in eye):
This is a Category III exposure, but since you are previously vaccinated, booster doses are sufficient
No need to restart or add extra doses
Conclusion:
Your body already has immunological memory.
No restart needed — continue as planned.
Need few more details for proper understanding of your issue.

Hi,
As per rabies post-exposure vaccination guidelines:
You have already completed a full ARV course 6 months ago and have started booster doses after recent exposure (Day 0 on 18 April and Day 3 on 21 April). This indicates your body already has pre-formed immunity and memory response.
The recent saliva exposure to eyes is considered a mucosal exposure, but in a previously vaccinated individual, it does not require restarting the vaccine series or RIG.
Next Steps
Do NOT restart ARV
Continue and complete the planned booster schedule (Day 7 dose tomorrow)
Key point:
Your existing vaccination provides a rapid immune response, so additional exposure during this period does not change the protocol.
Advice:
Wash eyes immediately with plenty of water/saline
No further intervention needed unless new high-risk exposure occurs

For any further clarification, you can book online consultation for proper follow-up & management
According to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, once a previously vaccinated individual completes a 2-dose booster course (on Day 0 and Day 3), their body achieves a rapid 'anamnestic' response, pushing antibody levels well above the protective threshold. Since you just received your doses on April 18th and 21st, your body is currently at its maximum immune peak. There is absolutely no clinical requirement to restart the course or take a 3rd dose for today's incident."
Next Steps
The 3-Month Grace Period: Once you complete a documented re-exposure course (0, 3), you are generally considered protected for any subsequent minor exposures for the next 90 days. Today's incident is covered under the protection provided by the April 18/21 shots.
Peak Antibodies: Your 2nd dose was on April 21st. By April 24th/25th, your immune system has already fully recognized the antigen and is flooded with protective antibodies. Adding another dose now provides no additional benefit.
Low-Risk Incident: As discussed before, 'saliva in eyes' from an indirect or non-bite source is a Category I/Low-risk event. With your very recent boosters, the risk is clinically zero.
Health Tips
Cancel Tomorrow's Dose: You do not need to go for the dose on April 25th. Save your record of the April 18th and 21st injections; they are sufficient for your protection.
Wound/Eye Care: If saliva actually entered your eyes, simply washing them with clean water or saline is enough. Do not use harsh soaps or chemicals in the eyes.
Immunological Memory: Your body now has strong 'memory cells.' If you have a significant Category III bite after 3–6 months, you would only then need to consult for a fresh 2-dose booster.
