For a small fistula tract ,Ksharasutra therapy usually takes a few weeks to heal completely, but the exact duration depends on the tract’s complexity, your body’s healing response, and how consistently the thread is changed. You need to consult an ayurveda anorectal surgeon for physical examination and further evaluation.

Namastey Based on your MRI findings—a small sinus tract with blind ending (6 mm length, 2.5 mm diameter at 6 o’clock position)—this appears to be an early, low anal fistula, likely originating from a recurrent fissure that got infected and formed a localized tract. In such small and superficial tracts, Ksharasutra therapy is a well-established Ayurvedic parasurgical approach and can be very effective when performed correctly. It works by gradually cutting, draining, and healing the tract simultaneously, minimizing recurrence when compared to simple drainage procedures. For a tract of your size, healing is usually faster than larger or complex fistulas. Typically, the cutting and healing rate is about 0.5–1 cm per week, so in your case, it may take approximately 2–4 weeks for tract resolution, followed by additional time for complete tissue healing. Overall, you can expect 3–5 weeks for recovery, depending on your body’s healing response and local care. The success of the procedure depends heavily on proper technique and follow-up sittings. KsharSutra procedure will cure it completely, but reoccurence can be ensured by avoiding the root cause like avoid constipation and other contributing factors.
Next Steps
You are at a stage where timely intervention can prevent progression into a complex fistula, so delaying treatment is not advisable. For personalized guidance and proper management of your condition, you can connect with us at 9 3 1 5 6 6 1 5 6 5, where you will receive structured care and monitoring for optimal recovery.
Health Tips
Proper local hygiene and bowel habits play a crucial role in healing. Keep the anal region clean and dry, and avoid prolonged sitting or straining during defecation. Ensure that your stools remain soft and well-formed, as hard stools can aggravate both fissure and fistula. Warm sitz baths can be very helpful in reducing discomfort and improving local circulation, thereby supporting healing. Avoid spicy, oily, and constipating foods, and maintain a routine that supports smooth bowel movements and reduces pressure on the anal region. Consistency in these habits will significantly improve outcomes and reduce the chances of recurrence. Thank you

Based on your MRI findings, the tract described (6 mm length, 2.5 mm diameter, blind-ending sinus at 6 o’clock position) suggests an early, simple fistulous tract. In such small and uncomplicated cases, both surgical management (like fistulotomy/laser) and Ksharasutra therapy are effective options. Ksharasutra therapy is particularly useful in early and low-lying tracts, as it allows gradual cutting and healing with a low recurrence rate and minimal risk to sphincter muscles. In your case, healing may typically take around 5-7weeks with weekly thread changes. Surgical options, on the other hand, provide faster resolution, with healing usually within 3-4weeks,but the choice depends on patient preference, availability of expertise, and comfort with follow-ups. Since you also have a history of chronic fissure, it is important to manage underlying constipation and local hygiene, as persistent fissure can contribute to recurrence. I would recommend discussing both options with a qualified surgeon (note-Small risk of recurrence .If not done carefully → sphincter risk (but low in small tracts like yours) or Ksharasutra specialist and choosing the approach based on your convenience and access to experienced care. Early treatment in such cases generally gives excellent outcomes.
