I've anal fissure for 7 months. Never had a bleeding problem, but getting pain most times - Especially after sitting for a long time, after masturbation, after passing stool post constipation.
Pain got reduced drastically in initial stages, but got no improvement for the past few months.
Consulted multiple doctors, few suggesting Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy, few suggesting to continue medications until cure (Fidonal cream ointment, Sitz bath and Stool softner).
I happened to read that Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy involves permanent cut in sphincter muscle. I don't know how this permanent cut will affect the future. So I am afraid to take that option.
I read that there's an alternative treatment involves Botox injection. Why no one doctor in Chennai is suggesting this to me? Is that a better option to try before surgery?
