Health Tips
Don't worry, slight adjustments can make great difference
Yes, Alaspan-AM (Loratadine + Montelukast) is generally considered safe during breastfeeding, especially since you are feeding only occasionally.
Both medicines pass into breast milk in very minimal amounts and are unlikely to harm the baby. This combination is commonly used for allergic cough, watery eyes, and allergy symptoms in breastfeeding mothers.
Next Steps
• You may take Alaspan-AM once daily, preferably after feeding the baby at night
• If symptoms are mild, sometimes Loratadine alone is sufficient
• If cough or allergy persists beyond a few days, consult a doctor to rule out asthma or sinus allergy
• Seek medical advice if baby shows unusual sleepiness, irritability, or feeding issues (rare)
Health Tips
• Avoid dust, cold air, strong perfumes, and smoke
• Wash face and eyes after coming from outside
• Use saline nasal spray or steam inhalation
• Drink warm fluids
• Try to take the medicine after the longest gap between feeds
