Adult Acne
I am in my late twenties and for the past year I have been experiencing episodes of stubborn acne breakouts. However, I did not have acne problems as a teenager. Usually they come before the menstrual cycle and no matter what I do, I cannot calm them down. Recently I feel my skin texture has become uneven.

Hormonal acne is very common in females over 25 years of age.you might need to get some blood tests done. You should consult online with pictures and detailed history  for the treatment. Stress is one if the aggravating factors. Take early treatment to prevent scarring and pigmentation. Do not self medicate or take treatment from quacks. Consult a qualified dermatologist

Hello, Most common cause of adult acne is hormonal. Hormonal acne is to be ruled out along with other symptoms like weight gain, excessive facial hair growth and pigmented patches over nape of neck and axilla. Approach of adult acne is completely different. Do not try to self treat. Always get an endocrine profile done so as to assure the diagnosis. Premenstrual acne is something which is inevitable but you can prevent them by using spot treatment and anti-acne agents under doctor's supervision.
