At the age of 15 if the child is having adenoid hypertrophy, surgical management should be considered.
As adenoid tissue normally regress till 12 years of age, if they are still hypertrophied, they willl lead to multiple problems like sleep issues, decreased immunity, growth retardation, irritability, facial deformity.
Many allergic symptoms will also resolve post adenoidectomy
Next Steps
ENT consultation
Health Tips
Adenoid surgery is safe and scarless and minimal post operative pain
You will have to wait to know whether SLIT is helping him or not … since immunotherapy takes a long while to act and is the best cure for allergies
If it doesn’t subside surgical management will be needed
Also please add topical nasal steroids to help with the symptoms
